Building Connectedness Between The Phases

The step phase is in simplest terms a "bound."  This bound must be connected to the hop phase correctly if an athlete hopes to achieve their best potential distance.  This drill is a great way to build upon the hurdle drill given on the hop phase page and can be done with nearly any age level.  There are other drills that can assist with this phase, but I've found this one to be very useful as a coach.  Check out my practice inventory page to see how I use this drill to develop my athletes in the step phase
